Conte demands Chelsea to approach Juventus star

According to The Sun, Chelsea are ready to make a last-gasp £25m bid for Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini, following Antonio Conte’s orders.

Chiellini would be a familiar face for the new Chelsea boss, as they worked together when the 47-year-old was in charge of Juventus and later in Italy’s national team. They have enjoyed a lot of success together.

The 32-year-old centre-back has been a key player for Juventus and Italy for several years, and by achieving plenty of success in the past few years, he would certainly bring experience and quality to the shaky-looking Blues back-line.

Chelsea are looking to bolster their defence as they only have a few options left, after defenders Michael Hector and Matt Miazga were sent on loan, and Kurt Zouma is still out injured which certainly leaves room for additions.

Chelsea have also been fighting to sign the 25-year-old Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, but Conte is understandably starting to get frustrated for having to offer more and more money to clinch a deal for the Senegal international.
