Chelsea make £32m bid for David Luiz

With the conclusion of the 2016 summer transfer window just over a day away, Chelsea have made a last ditch attempt to re-sign PSG defender David Luiz for £32m to solve their defensive worries according to the Daily Mail.

Chelsea have become increasingly frustrated this summer having been rebuffed in their attempts to sign Alessio Romagnoli and Kalidou Koulibaly, therefore have turned their attention to David Luiz’s team-mate Marquinhos, but have been given more encouragement to sign the former Blue after the 29-year-old came under scrutiny at the weekend, giving away a penalty and was immediately taken off by Unai Emery.

The furry-headed Brazilian left Chelsea for Paris Saint-Germain for £50m back in 2014 – a world record fee for a defender –  but Antonio Conte believes that he can get the best out of Luiz and thinks the singing of N’Golo Kante will aid the hot-headed defender.

David Luiz previously spent three and-a-half years at the club where he won the FA Cup, Europa League and the glorious Champions League trophy during his time at Chelsea, and is reportedly keen on the idea of return to Stamford Bridge this summer.
