Napoli are close to signing center-back Nikola Maksimovic, who could be the replacement player for Koulibaly.
If the deal for Maksimovic is finalized, this would then leave Koulibaly open to make a move to the West London club on the proposed 5-year-deal.
Chelsea are currently in need of a few transfers after the lack of activity in the transfer market this summer, as Antonio Conte’s team are still in need of back-up defenders, should any injuries were to occur among the current back four.
Being well known as versatile defender, Koulibaly can play as a center-back, right-back of even a defensive midfielder, which will leave Conte able to use him within different areas under the new rule of the Italian.
