Chelsea set to make last ditch bid for Rodriguez

With Willian currently dealing with a minor calf injury and Eden Hazard needing more support on the wings, many have defined Chelsea’s missing links in the defense and on the wing. Chelsea now seem adamant on resolving those issues, firstly by targeting current Real Madrid outlier James Rodríguez, according to The Express.

Chelsea are rumored to bid £60 million for the Colombian star – £3 million less than what Real Madrid bought him for three seasons ago after a successful World Cup campaign.

Rodriguez is rumored to be unsettled at Real Madrid with manager Zinedine Zidane favoring other options over the winger.

Outside of Rodriguez, Antonio Conte and the Chelsea board have been looking into defensive options in Kalidou Koulibaly, Jonas Hector, Alessia Romagnoli, Ricardo Rodriguez and Nikola Maksimović, having already signed N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi in the offseason.
