Chelsea’s Juan Cuadrado is reportedly on his way back to Serie A, as despite giving a promising start under Antonio Conte in this summer’s pre-season, the winger doesn’t seem to have a part in the Italian’s season plans.
According to Daily Mail, the Colombian could be sent back to Juventus, where he had a successive loan spell last campaign after José Mourinho was adamant to not give him his promised playing time.
At the beginning of the season Antonio Conte told he was happy to have a player of Cuadrado’s caliber in the team, and confirmed he would be staying at Stamford Bridge.
He (Juan Cuadrado) is in our squad, I’m very happy to have him and train him.
I wanted him when I was a coach at Juventus and he will come back very soon and train and play with us. Now, he’s a Chelsea player and he’ll stay with us. If something changes you’ll know.
However, the 28-year-old’s future at Chelsea is yet again uncertain, as the Turin side are keen to sign the player on loan with an option to buy.
Last season Cuadrado took part in 41 appearances for Juve, scoring five goals and eight assists to his name.
In Chelsea’s opening fixture against West Ham on Monday evening Conte played four of his five wingers; Eden Hazard, Willian, Pedro and Victor Moses, as Cuadrado was left on the bench as an unused substitute.
