Chelsea on verge of signing Spanish goalkeeper

Reports from Italy are saying that Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Diego Lopez, according to Sky Sports.

The 34-year-old is currently playing for AC Milan, but didn’t get a lot of playing time last season after being left in the shadow of Milan’s 17-year-old Italian wonder-kid Gianluigi Donnarumma.

During his career Diego Lopez has played for big teams like Real Madrid, Sevilla and Villareal before joining his current club in Serie A.

It is understood that AC Milan have reached an agreement with Chelsea over the experienced Spaniard, but according to Gazzamercato.it, an official agreement will be published when Asmir Begovic has departed from Chelsea.

Thibaut Courtois has seemingly cemented his place as a number one goalkeeper under new boss Antonio Conte, which has made the Bosnia and Herzegovina international’s state at Stamford Bridge uncertain.
