Crystal Palace sign Loic Remy

Confirmed by the club itself, Chelsea striker Loic Remy has today signed a one-year loan deal with Crystal Palace with an option to buy for £12m at the end of the season, as the Frenchman will spend the 2016/17 campaign at the Premier League side in the hope of more regular playing time.

Remy has been expected to make a move throughout the summer, negotiating with Premier League sides like West Ham, as he has struggled to make it into Chelsea’s starting line-up in the past few seasons.

The rumours of the 29-year-old’s proposed transfer disappeared for a while after Palace signed Belgian striker Christian Benteke from Liverpool, but regardless of that the former Newcastle striker will reunite with Alan Pardew once again.

This is a very good chance for me and a big opportunity. It was very important to know Alan Pardew as he is a very good manager and I am happy to be here.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are planning to sign at least one more striker this summer, as new Blues boss Antonio Conte is going through many names to add to the squad.

At the moment Chelsea are left with just Diego Costa and newly signed Michy Batshuayi in the attackers’ department, so should Conte really challenge for the title this season, new signings have to be made.
