Youngster dreams of becoming Chelsea’s first-team regular

Chelsea’s Academy star Isaiah ‘Izzy’ Brown has revealed his biggest dream of becoming a first-team regular at Chelsea, as he looks to prove his worth during season-long loan spell at Rotherham United.

The 19-year-old Englishman was on loan at Vitesse Arnhem last season, scoring once in his 22 appearances for the Dutch side, but believes he can make an impact more easily closer to home.

I just want to show I’m capable of playing in the Chelsea first team – my dream is to be a first-team regular.

It’s okay playing a few games here and there but I want to have a shirt number and play every game, week in week out.

If you’re doing well in England and everyone’s watching and seeing what you’re capable of, hopefully it’ll pass on through to Chelsea.

Brown was close scoring a goal on his Championship debut, and has expressed his sensation of the huge step upwards considering the pace of the league compared to youth-team football.

I haven’t witnessed anything like that before, it’s something I need to get used to.

Under-21s football is nothing compared to the Championship. It’s so much more difficult.

You have no time. Every time you have the ball, there’s either someone in your back or someone coming in front of you – so you have to think quick and make quick decisions. I just tried to keep things simple.

My legs felt a bit heavy going into the second half, because I had the European Championships [with England] and then I had six days off before I was back training with Chelsea.
