Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly ready to let go of Belgian winger Eden Hazard in exchange for Juventus center-back Leonardo Bonucci, The Sun reports.
The former Italy head coach has made Bonucci his number one priority ahead of a busy January transfer window, and is ready to strengthen their bid for the 29-year-old defender by adding Chelsea’s most valuable player to the offer.
And, according to recent reports, the Turin side are prepared to part ways with the world-class center-half if Chelsea make a record breaking £50m bid and include Cesc Fabregas to the deal.
Conte though is hoping to lower the transfer fee by using Hazard instead of Fabregas, who has also been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge after not getting as much plying time as first thought.
Hazard was named as PFA’s Player of the Year in 2015 and at just 25 years of age he has everything still to play for, but what he experienced last season was a disastrous campaign, when Chelsea exhibited their all-time low by finishing tenth in the league.
Juventus boss, Maximiliano Allegri, is however more keen on bringing Fabregas to the Serie A, as a player of his type fits better to his system, while Hazard doesn’t.
