CB: John Terry

Terry ruled out of United clash

According to The Times, Chelsea will have to cope without captain John Terry on Sunday’s Premier League clash against Manchester United.

The Blues skipper has missed the last five games due to an ankle injury, but was already about to return last weekend when Chelsea won Leicester 3-0 at home.

However, it seems that Terry will also miss the Stamford Bridge return of José Mourinho after suffering yet another ankle injury.

It will be the first time the ex-Chelsea boss will be facing his former side since being sacked by the club for the second time last season.

Terry will be assessed today by the Chelsea medical staff, but even if he turned out to be fine to train, it’s unlikely that he’ll be returning to Antonio Conte’s team selection just yet.

It’s expected that Conte will be using the same defensive line which resulted in back-to-back clean sheets from wins over Hull City and Leicester since switching to 3-4-3 formation, playing David Luiz, Cesar Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill in the heart of the defence.
