Chelsea are amongst a big bunch of English clubs keen on signing Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to Goal.
Liverpool, Manchester City, United, Arsenal and the Blues are all showing major interest on the Frenchman, who seems set to leave the Serie A side during the Juanary transfer window after a poor season in the Italian top-flight. The Nerazzurri are currently hovering just above the top-half of the league table, which is a position no many would’ve thought the side being found from at the start of the season.
Antonio Conte is reportedly very keen on securing the 23-year-old’s signature, but is hoping to sell the squad’s fringe players including Cesc Fabregas and Oscar, before adding anyone new to the ranks. Inter Milan paid AS Monaco £26.35m for the player in June 2015, and they’re hoping to get the same amount back from selling him onward.
Kondogbia is just one of Chelsea’s midfielder targets, as players like Roma star Radja Nainggolan, Fiorentina’s Milan Badelj and Sevilla’s Stephen N’Zonzi are all shortlisted by the Italian manager.
Conte’s two-man midfield of N’Golo Kanté and Nemanja Matic is currently the best it can get for the former Juventus manager, but because of Fabregas and Oscar’s (who by the way is linked with a move to Inter) inability to fit into the new 3-4-3 system, better suitors could be found.
