Chelsea handed injury boost as Eden Hazard fit to face Middlesbrough

Chelsea have received relieving news ahead of their return to Premier League action as star forward Eden Hazard is reportedly fit to face Middlesbrough along with the rest of the squad this weekend.

The Belgium international was forced to go off after the half-time break in the Red Devils’ World Cup 2018 qualifier against Estonia last night and will be assessed to return to Chelsea in the coming days, the Daily Mail reports.

Hazard – as the new captain of the national team – was one of the players on the score sheet in the Belgians 8-1 hammering past the Estonian side, but injured his calf in a clash with Gert Kams and was subbed off quickly after by the head coach Roberto Martinez.

However, it’s expected that the 25-year-old will be part of Antonio Conte’s squad this Sunday when Chelsea travel to Middlesbrough in hope of retaining their impressive winning streak of five consecutive league games.

Despite a poor last season, Hazard has returned to his best form helping his Chelsea side reach the top two of the league table with just one point behind Liverpool.

Hazard has already bagged seven goals and two assists to his name in the Premier League this term, and staying fit throughout the season he will be one of the most influential players in Conte’s squad.
