Antonio Conte has revealed that Chelsea are aiming for the top of the Premier League table, report Squawka News.
The Blues are very much the in-form side in the league at the moment, and Squawka News have quoted Conte revealing his title ambitions: “October was a fantastic month for us. 4 wins. It’s important to restart. They know going top of the league is motivation.”
Jose Mourinho’s mismanagement took Chelsea towards the relegation zone last camapaign. Guus Hiddink came in and steadied the ship, but the damage to our season was already irreparable. Hiddink steered us to a tenth place finish and there were evident pitfalls in our squad.
Conte came into the club and got to work immediately. He signed N’Golo Kante, David Luiz and Marcos Alonso, all of whom have become cornerstones in the side. He has fixed our leaking defence and revitalised our misfiring attack.
After five wins and five clean-sheets on the bounce, we find ourselves in a situation where a win over Middlesbrough will take us to the top of the table. That very much appears to be Conte’s ambition.
