Chelsea’s unsettled youngster Bertrand Traore, who is spending the current season on loan at Eredivise side Ajax, is reportedly being targeted by Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyonnais. According to French media outlet Foot Mercato Lyon want to sign the player permanently at the end of his loan spell.
The Burkina Faso international made his breakthrough at Chelsea’s first-team last season bagging two goals in six league appearances, and has now scored four goals in all competition for the Dutch giants this term.
However, the 21-year-old’s sudden loan move to Netherlands left Traore confused of his treatment at Chelsea and he might as well see the French top-flight as a better fit for him compared to the Premier League. Traore scored one goal in the pre-season, but it wasn’t enough to impress Antonio Conte.
With the right price selling Traore is not a bad idea, but there can always be a chance we end up bidding £50m for him a few years after we’ve let him go. As we all remember, Lukaku and De Bruyne seemed pretty useless at first, didn’t they?
