Former Tottenham striker Jermaine Defoe has revealed that he thinks Chelsea will win the Premier League title, report the Daily Star.
When asked about who he thought would be taking Leicester’s crown in May, the Daily Star quote Defoe in saying: “For me I’d have to say Chelsea because they’re scoring goals and not conceding, keeping clean sheets which is key.”
Chelsea have won all seven of their passed Premier League games, scoring 19 goals and conceding just once. This incredible form has fired Antonio Conte’s side to the summit of English football, and Defoe believes that they will stay there.
Defoe likely found no enjoyment in our 2-1 victory over Tottenham yesterday evening. The former England international made 363 appearances for Spurs across two respective spells at the club, scoring 143 goals.
Unfortunately for him, it does not look like anyone can stop Chelsea at the moment, and we may well end up being champions of England.
