Chelsea are reportedly looking to make a breakthrough in their hunt for Antonio Conte’s top-target Marco Verratti this January, when the winter transfer window opens.
The Italian midfielder is currently unsettled at Paris Saint-Germain, as he’s been speculated to be keen on moving to a bigger league. It’s reported that he’s wanted at Stamford Bridge and that the interest hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Verratti wouldn’t come cheap as he’s reportedly not available to leave for any less than £40m, but Daily Mail claim that the club owner Roman Abramovich is ready to open his wallet in order to help his team to win the title this season.
The 24-year-old has a contract with PSG until 2021, but his agent, Donato Di Campli, hinted in October that Verratti has aims to win silverware, and that it could happen elsewhere than in the French capital.
Contracts are made and unmade in three minutes. We’ll see PSG’s aims.
Marco is happy to be there but he wants to win something important. He can not stay in a team that does not win.

Verratti has scored two goals and assisted once this season in 19 appearances in all competitions.
