Juventus rival Chelsea for top midfield target

With January less than two weeks away, the links between Chelsea and a variety of central midfielders are only intensifying. Franck Kessie has been top of the list for the last few weeks, with even Arturo Vidal mentioned today.

The ideal transfer for most Chelsea fans would be Marco Verratti. We saw first hand over three consecutive years in playing PSG in the Champions League that he has all the quality needed to play for a top team, plus a level of aggression that sets him apart from many in his position.

Prising him away from Paris was always going to be an almost impossible task; and it may well have just got harder with news from Tuttosport that Juventus are keen to sign the midfielder too.

Juve have all the financial power necessary to get Verratti, and they rarely fail to persuade Italian players that that Turin is the place to be for their careers.
