After a resounding 3-0 victory over Leicester City last weekend, Chelsea return to Premier League action against Hull City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.
The Blues are strong favourites for tomorrow’s fixture, as they haven’t lost a league game against Hull in their last nine meetings (W7, D2), keeping six clean sheets in the progress.
Antonio Conte could be making a few slight changes to the last game’s starting line-up, as Diego Costa is set to return from his infamous bust-up with the manager, and a back injury which was reportedly a reason behind his absence as well.
But, without further a due, here’s how we believe the Blues to line up tomorrow.
GOALKEEPER:
Just like the week before this and the week before that, Thibaut Courtois will be our main man between the posts.
A lovely clean-sheet last time out was his 14th in the league this season, and he’s surely keen to make it 15 tomorrow.
DEFENCE:
It’s easy to rely on these three top defenders, who have been in a wonderful form this season.
Cesar Azpilicueta will be continuing his impressive performances on the right hand side of the back-three, with David Luiz and Gary Cahill on his left looking to do exactly the same.
Nathan Ake could be coming on on the second half if the match is well under our control, as Conte previously hinted he’s ready to play for the Chelsea team this season.
MIDFIELD:
The midfield was flawless against Leicester last weekend, but for a game where we’re surely set to dominate possession throughout the match, Cesc Fabregas could be a better fit over Nemanja Matic in midfield. His killer passes can really make the difference against the defensively-weak Hull side.
Meanwhile, N’Golo Kante resumes in the middle of the field with two-goal scorer Marcos Alonso on the left, and Victor Moses on the right.
ATTACK:
Expectations are directed towards the way of Diego Costa returning to the staring line-up tomorrow, as mentioned earlier, and a goal to his name would be a pleasant thing for all parties.
Eden Hazard and Pedro were both great against Leicester, with the latter assisting one and the first scoring one. Both likely to remain in the staring XI with Willian probably on the bench to begin with.
