Chelsea want Sergio Aguero as Diego Costa replacement

Chelsea could be pulling one of the most shocking transfers of the Premier League history as they’re suddenly being linked with a summer move for rival side Manchester City’s star striker Sergio Aguero, according to The Sun.

The Argentine hitman is set to depart the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season following ‘secret showdown talks’ with the manager Pep Guardiola on Thursday night. It’s believed that the ex-Atletico Madrid player is reportedly concerned over his future at the club following the signature of Brazilian frontman Gabriel Jesus.

Guardiola, who is desperate to profoundly overhaul his City side after falling down to a 10-point margin to leaders Chelsea in the league, could be cashing in on Aguero and other stars players, with Jesus leading the attacking line in the future.

The bookies have already slashed their odds and according to SunBets, Aguero is priced 4/1 to join Antonio Conte’s Chelsea, with an Atletico Madrid return priced at 6/1 and a switch to Bayern Muchen standing at 1/8.

Chelsea are on the verge of losing their tricky star striker Diego Costa to China, and should a team be ready to meet the player’s £130m asking price, Aguero could be an ideal replacement for the 29-year-old Spaniard.
