Italian transfer website Calcio Mercato publishes plenty of rubbish, but when it comes to the desires and interests of Italy’s biggest clubs, it usually has it spot on.
Today it features claims from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on the subject of Chelsea and their long-rumoured target Sead Kolasinac.
The Blues were linked with bids for the Schalke wing back through January, although nothing eventually materialised.
There was also serious interest from Juventus, as well as other Bundesliga teams.
Romano reports that Juve are backing off as they don’t want to overpay for the Bosnian. This is good news for Chelsea as it means one fewer competitor for the dangerous defender’s signature. However one might also question why Juve – who have a pretty excellent record of signings in recent years – are willing to let Kolasinac get away.
Romando says it’s because they have young talents Leonardo Spinazzola coming through the ranks on loan at Atlanta are aren’t keen to stunt his growth. Shouldn’t Chelsea be thinking the same thing about Ola Aina?
