Chelsea battling Man United and Monaco for Italian prodigy

Chelsea are keen on signing one of Italy’s brightest young talents, according to reports on Italian transfer site Calcio Mercato.

Pietro Pellegri is only 15 but has already made his Serie A debut, appearing on the 22nd December 2016 to become the youngest ever player in the Italian top flight.

Chelsea are not the only ones interested in the wonderkid however, with Manchester United also tipped as interested by the Italian media.

As always, Juventus have their ear to the ground to pick up the best youngsters from the peninsula, and Monaco are also apparently interested in the youngster as they prepare to restock on young talent in anticipation of an exodus this summer.

With this much competition, the Blues will have their work cut out to secure Pellegri, but the success they are having under an Italian manager, and the club’s long history of success with Italian players and managers, may help them swing the deal in their favour.
