Conte considers surprise swoop for Manchester United attacker

Chelsea could be set to make a shock move for Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard, according to The Sun.

Lingard, who is a product of United’s illustrious academy that has produced countless superstars through the years, has established himself as an important member of their squad in the past two seasons. Under the stewardship of Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, he has showcased his talent and subsequently earned himself a spot in the England squad.

However, as The Sun report, Lingard has just one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, and the tabloid believe he is being eyed by two of United’s Premier League counterparts.

According to The Sun, both Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in signing Lingard when his Man United contract expires. The Sun note that Antonio Conte believes Lingard could play as both a wing-back and a forward for the league leaders if drafted into the squad.
