Chelsea key man set to miss Manchester City clash

Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses is struggling to overcome a toe injury, and hasn’t taken part in the first team’s training ahead of the Blues’s match against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge tomorrow night.

The same problem ruled him out of Chelsea’s last game on Saturday, and his absence was rather decisive as the Blues were defeated 2-1 at the Bridge by their London rivals Crystal Palace.

Moses has made himself a key player in Antonio Conte’s set-up this season, but the downside of it is how the club have no natural replacement for the Nigerian in that very big role of his.

Chelsea had to shape up in a different formation, switching the magical 3-4-3 system to 3-5-2, where Pedro had to play much lower than he usually would to cover for Moses’s absence.

Conte will have a big hole to fill for tomorrow should the 26-year-old be ruled out once again, as Pep Guardiola’s Citizens are surely prepared to take an advantage of the fault in Chelsea’s set-up.
