Fenerbahce in talks over signing of Chelsea midfielder

Chelsea chiefs have reportedly met with Fenerbahce representatives last week over the transfer of midfielder Marco Van Ginkel, according to Turkish-Football.

The Blues centre-mid is currently on loan at PSV Eindhoven but the Turkish side are fighting to land the player on a permanent deal.

Van Ginkel joined Chelsea from Vitesse Arnhem in 2013 but injuries have made his breakthrough a tough task to complete – a long-term knee injury on his maiden season and another long-term injury after loan spells at AC Milan, Stoke City and PSV last year.

He’s fit again and has scored an impressive seven goals in eleven games this term for the Dutch club.

Van Ginkel’s agent Karel Jansen has revealed that the Dutchman is planning to meet with the head of Chelsea this season.

“The current season is still running so nothing has been decided.

Discussions over whether he is part of Chelsea’s plans are still to be had.

We must wait for the end of the season and after that we will consult with them.

Chelsea renewed his contract before he went away on loan so in our opinion there is still a future at the club.

We don’t know if PSV want to sign him permanently. PSV have not made a decision yet about next season at this stage.”
