Thibaut Courtois injury update ahead of FA Cup semi-final

Chelsea are hopeful of seeing Thibaut Courtois return fit for Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur this Saturday, Sky Sports reports.

The Belgian shot-stopper missed the Blues’s 2-0 defeat against Manchester United yesterday due to an ankle injury, and was therefore replaced by Asmir Begovic between the sticks.

Asmir Begovic conceded twice against United yesterday.

According to various reports, Courtois injured his ankle in a shoot for a basketball commercial – which naturally angered a large amount of Chelsea fans.

Conte spoke to the press after yesterday’s game and didn’t want to put any extra focus on how the injury emerged, also stating how the whole team has their full faith on Begovic.

“I think it is not important now to understand the way that he had this injury.

The bad news is that he is injured and now it is important to work to recover very soon.

Thibaut Courtois for sure is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but we trust a lot in Begovic.”

After next Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Spurs Chelsea will still have six league games to play for with the title race looking more interesting than ever now.
