Alvaro Morata tells Zinedine Zidane he’ll leave Real Madrid for Chelsea

Chelsea have made a huge step ahead in their race for Real Madrid star striker Alvaro Morata, as the player has reportedly told the team manager Zinedine Zidane that he’ll be leaving Santiago Bernabeu this summer to join Antonio Conte’s Blues, Diario Gol claims.

The Italian manager made an effort to land the 24-year-old hit-man since last summer, but the Spanish giants wanted the former Juventus striker to remain at the club.

However, the Spain international has mainly been spectating the games from the bench in number one striker Karim Benzema’s shadow and is now determined to move away.

Morata was signed by Conte during the former Azzurri boss’ time at Juventus on loan and the two still have a great relationship between them.

Manchester United have also joined the race to land the player, but Jose Mourinho might not be able to offer Morata the same kind of perks as Conte will be, with United sitting sixth in the Premier League table having their only chance for Champions League in the Europa League final against Ajax.
