Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly eyeing a move for Ryan Bertrand this summer as he wants to bring back the England international from Southampton, according to Daily Mail (via Metro.)
The 27-year-old Champions League golden medalist was sold to the South Coast in a £10m deal by Jose Mourinho back in 2015 after his future at Stamford Bridge was only going to have him warming up the Blues bench.
Now with Conte set to resume to his second season at the club, he wants to do the same as the club have already done to the likes of David Luiz and Nemanja Matic, and re-sign the player.
The Italian tactician is reportedly going to stick with his beloved 3-4-3 formation over to the next campaign, and wants competition for the left wing-back’s role, which Spanish ace Marcos Alonso is currently serving all alone.
Bertrand would reportedly be available with double of what the Saints bought him for in 2015 – £20m.
