Antonio Conte has lost his trust in Chelsea defender

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has reportedly started having doubts over Blues defender Kurt Zouma’s ability to keep up with the team, according to The Sun.

The big Frenchman has been struggling to find his best form following the long-term knee injury of his, and the player could be heading out of the club in this summer’s transfer window.

Zouma tore his ACL in February 2016, and returned to first-team action only a few months ago.

The 22-year-old centre-back has only made seven outings in the Premier League this season, starting just two of them.

Conte is also looking to bolster his defensive ranks with new signings this summer, as centre-halves such as Southampton skipper Virgil Van Dijk and Napoli key man Kalidou Koulibaly are high up in the Italian tactician’s transfer target list.

Also Nathan Ake has started to make a name for himself in the Chelsea team, starting to leave Zouma into his shadow as the number one back-up choice for the Blues’ thickset back-three of David Luiz, Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta.
