Everton are interested in signing Chelsea full back Baba Rahman.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that the defender is on Ronald Koeman’s list as a potential back up to the ageing Leighton Baines. The left back has been a key part of the Toffees play since he signed, and they are in urgent need of a replacement.
Rahman had a single season at Chelsea last year after signing for £14m, and failed to impress as the Blues struggled. This season he has been on loan at Schalke, where he has recovered some of the form that saw the Premier League side buy him from Augsburg in the first place.
Antonio Conte is in need of a backup for Marcos Alonso on the left, and he may see something he likes in Rahman. On the other hand, if they pocket a decent fee for the Ghanaian, perhaps Michael Emenalo would be willing to cut his losses and try again with another up and comer.
