West Bromwich vs Chelsea – Match Preview

A title winning game ahead! Chelsea have the chance to clinch their fifth Premier League trophy in today’s huge clash against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.

The Blues cruised into a comfortable 3-0 victory against Middlesbrough last Monday and have one hand on the trophy, needing just one win from their remaining three games to be announced as the champions.

Currently eight-placed West Brom on the other hand have picked up just two points from their last six games, but have a good record against top six clubs at home, and Chelsea will need to be at their best to be able to secure the title today.

Match Details

Kick-off at 20.00 UK Time at the Hawthorns. TV broadcast live from Sky Sports 1.

Injury News

Chelsea were without their key man N’Golo Kante last Monday, but it’s believed that he has already overcome his thigh problem and is likely to be named into the starting line-up. The Blues have no other injury worries ahead of the clash.

West Brom will be without their star winger Matt Phillips, but Jonny Evans and Hal Robson-Kanu will be returning to the side from their injuries.

One to watch

Salomon Rondon – The Venezuelan forward is the Baggies’ top scorer and despite a large goal drought, he found the back of the net in WBA’s last game against Burnley last weekend in a 2-2 draw at Turf Moor.

The eight-goal man is likely to start upfront tonight and the Blues defence will have to be at their best to match with the 27-year-old hitman’s strength on and above the ground.

Match Prediction

There’s no question whether Chelsea will be able to win the title this season, but it’s a big question whether they can do it already today. I certainly think so, and suggest Chelsea to win fair and square 2-0 – goals by Azpilicueta and Hazard!
