Injured Chelsea forward eases fears with ‘thumbs up’ tweet

Chelsea fans were given a huge scare on Saturday during their win against Arsenal in Beijing after Pedro was taken out of the game with a concussion.

The Spanish forward has been instrumental for Antonio Conte’s side and a long absence will be badly felt especially as Eden Hazard is also out injured.

However, Blues fans’ fears have been allayed after Pedro took to twitter to assure them he will be back sooner than later.

His tweet that read “What a shock! Fortunately everything is ok. Thanks for your messages” implied the ordeal he went through and why Chelsea had to fly him back to London for further treatment.

He was replaced in the game by Chelsea youngster Jeremie Boga who terrorized the Gunners defense the entire period he was on the pitch.

With Hazard and now Pedro injured, Chelsea will count on Willian – who has scored in the two preseason games so far – and Boga as the only wingers going into the new season.

The 29-year old is expected to be out of the majority of Chelsea’s preseason but might return just in time for the Premier League champions curtain raiser against Arsenal on August 6.
