Antonio Conte gives big update on N’Golo Kante’s return date

Antonio Conte has given a promising update on N’Golo Kante’s return to the side after Chelsea’s 1-0 win over AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court on Saturday evening.

The Blues played their fifth match without the France international, who injured his hamstring during the World Cup qualifying match against Bulgaria in early October.

Kante has already returned to Chelsea’s first-team training this week, but he didn’t make it to tonight’s squad for the trip to Bournemouth, where the Blues were led to a win thanks to Eden Hazard’s second-half goal.

After the game Conte hinted that Kante could be returning already on Tuesday night when the Blues travel to Rome for their reverse fixture against the Italians.

“I hope [he’s available on Tuesday]. He could be ready. You know very well the importance of this player. I want to be sure if he is ready. I hope to have him in this game but I don’t want to take a risk. If he is ready, he plays.

Kante will also be a very vital player once Chelsea return to England, as they’ll be hosting Manchester United at home on Sunday evening and need the last season’s Player of the Year winner in their side for the best result.
