“A constant menace” – Chelsea talent praised after another top performance

The last two weeks have effectively been “The Weeks of Loftus-Cheek” after the England midfielder excelled against Germany for England and was then praised to the high heavens for it.

But it’s not just for his international performances that the Chelsea loanee is being lavished with garlands. As any Blue knows, his exceptional abilities extent to club level too, and he proved that again at club level this weekend.

There were doubts over whether he would play for Crystal Palace this weekend after having come off against Brazil on Tuesday night, but his back injury proved to be manageable and the 21 year old soldiered on to be one of his loan team’s key players against Everton.

The result was a 2-2 draw in the end, but the midfielder was a focus of so much praise from the media, including the BBC, who described him as a “constant menace”, who was “often making things happen”” with his “surging runs”.

Their website ended up awarding him the man of the match award, and it was well deserved.

Roy Hodgson, who manages Palace and has immediately identified RLC as a key player, was not short of praise for him either, saying that he was “very good”.
