Chelsea’s midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas would be keen to extend his contract with the club should he get the chance.
The Spain international has recently been linked with a move to Manchester United, but he has calmed down the rumours by revealing his aim to stay at Stamford Bridge for a long time to come.
Fabregas’ current Chelsea contract is eligible for just a bit over 18 months after joining the Blues in a five-year-deal from FC Barcelona in the summer of 2014.

The 30-year-old says he loves his life at the club and staying would be his priority, but doesn’t reveal that new contract talks would be topical at this stage of the campaign.
Would I like to renew? Yes, because it is a club that has always treated me well.
I believe the fans have a lot of respect for me and I have a lot of respect for them. I have given my all for the club for the last three-and-a-half years.
This is a fantastic club for me and I have had a fantastic time here. Hopefully another contract will happen. Time will tell.
Fabregas was influential in both of Chelsea’s last two Premier League title winning seasons. He has bagged 12 goals and provided 38 assists in the league during his spell at the Blues outfit.

Despite Fabregas turning 30 in May, the midfielder believes that he’s ready to play on the highest level for many years to come.
I know that people panic after players reach 30 and stuff like that, but I don’t believe in this. I feel well, I feel young in my mind. I train every day as hard as possible.
I think in the last 48 games I have played in 47, and I only missed one because I was suspended against Tottenham in August.
I always try to give my best. I will play at any moment, even when I’m sick or not 100 per cent.
