Spanish sports website Marca (via Sport Witness) have reported that Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain are showing strong interest in Chelsea’s star striker Alvaro Morata.
PSG’s first-choice striker Edinson Cavani is set to leave the club at the end of the season, and according to the paper PSG’s ‘leaders are clear that the successor of Cavani has to be Morata’.
The Parisians’ interest in Morata could very well be true, but considering what Morata told the press about signing a ten-year deal with Chelsea should he be offered one, it’s very unlikely that he’d be keen to move at this stage of his career.
The 25-year-old only joined Chelsea last summer in a club-record £70m move, as he turned down the likes of Manchester United after he decided to leave Real Madrid for good. If PSG really were to make an offer for the Spaniard, it should exceed the latest transfer fee, very considerably as well.
