“Chelsea manage tight games very well” – Carrasco warns Barcelona about Conte’s Blues

Most observers have Barcelona as favourites to beat Chelsea after the two were drawn together in the last 16 of the Champions League, to be played in February.

But not everyone is backing the Catalans, despite Chelsea’s poor result at the weekend.

Former Atleti player Lobo Carrasco, now a pundit on late night football chat show El Chiringuito, certainly likes Chelsea’s chances.

He pointed out that the Blues “manage tight games very well” and are “dangerous” – from a Barcelona point of view, that is.

It’s certainly been the case this season that the Blues have done better in big games. Wins against Man United, Atletico and Tottenham have been highlights, wheras losses have come against weak teams.

Antonio Conte has already said he thinks the league is lost, so all of his focus will be on the Barcelona game from now on. As Carrasco says, we’ve seen Chelsea do well in Europe against top teams over the years, and they’ve got plenty of attacking firepower on the break.
