There were rumours this week that Ruben Loftus-Cheek would be included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad if he was able to play consistently for the rest of the season, and he made the perfect start yesterday.
After returning from injury as a sub in the last tow games, he played from the start against Brighton and put in an exceptional performance as the Eagles won 3-2.

Normal thanks to all the players
But Ruben today was epic, he was ghosting past groups of players, freeing up space for Wilf, which probably had a lot to do with him scoring two goals.
Props to Ruben Loftus-cheek 👏👏👏 #CPFC 🔴🔵🦅😭

If Ruben Loftus-Cheek played like that on a semi-regular basis he would walk into the England starting line-up. Absolutely superb today.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, again, has been exceptional. No doubt he’s off to the World Cup. #CPFC

Loftus-Cheek is the best player on the pitch, and annoyingly Glenn Murray is the second best. Wilf fucking hates Brighton.
