One of the top European clubs who lined up to rescue Tiemoue Bakayoko from his Chelsea misery has decided to take their foot off the pedal in their chase of the French midfielder after being quoted a price for him.
According to German Television station, Sport 1, Borussia Dortmund will not follow up on their interest in Chelsea midfielder Bakayoko after the Blues told them they have to pay as much as £53m for him next summer.
A report by the Guardian says although the former AS Monaco midfielder is receiving a lot of flak at Chelsea for his unimpressive displays in the Premier League, “that hasn’t stopped Chelsea looking for £13m more than they paid for him”.
Dortmund, according to the Sun, wanted Bakayoko to join their ranks next summer after their midfielders Julian Weigl, Gonzalo Castro and Nuri Sahin were all tipped to leave the club in the coming transfer window for varying reasons.
Now Chelsea have to drop their asking price considerably if they want to offload their midfielder.
