Anthony Martial leads Chelsea’s shortlist for transfers ahead of next manager recruitment

Antonio Conte is expected to leave Chelsea next summer with several media reports suggesting his position at Chelsea is under huge threat following a disappointing season.

His constant complains about the club’s transfer policy left him distanced from his bosses. Although he clearly denounces his departure from the club most of the time, he is no likely to remain Chelsea manager for much of the summer and following a poor season as this one, the Blues are ready to invest in new players.

What stands in their way is who those players will be working under. The top hierarchy have not appointed the next manager to succeed Conte, which will be an obstacle for any potential new players.

The Daily Mail reports that last season’s champions have began drawing up a list of potential targets this summer for the next manager to choose from and top of the list are Manchester United winger Anthony Martial and Nice midfielder Jean Michael Serri.

Maurico Pochettino has been mentioned by Metro as one of the leading candidates to replace Conte while Luis Enrique is now thought to be in pole position for the Stamford Bridge hot seat, according to the Telegraph.
