Chelsea fans have a nice day of football ahead of them, with Fulham taking on Aston Villa in the playoff final, followed by Liverpool and Real Madrid in the Champions League final to close out this season.
The first game is dividing fans. While Aston Villa have John Terry leading them out at Wembley and Fulham are nominally Chelsea’s “rivals” in West London, plenty of Blues fans are backing the whites.
It will hard hard to root against John Terry for sure, but not as weird as it would be playing him next season should Villa go up – or even worse having to read the sneering furore on Twitter and in the papers if he then refuses to play against us.
Better to have Fulham, with their lovely local stadium which makes for a great day out – and often three points for the team, back in the top flight, we think.
