Chelsea ready to make bold decision on Charly Musonda’s loan spell at Celtic

Celtic are suddenly in trouble over their handling of on-loan Chelsea starlet Charly Musonda, with Goal reporting the Blues are willing to cut short the youngster’s time in Scotland.

The days prior to the loan spell in Scotland, Musonda was said to be a target for most clubs in Europe, but due to Brendan Rodgers’ relationship with Chelsea as reported by BBC, the Glasgow club won the race to sign him.

But Rodgers, initially expected to understand the importance of the role to Chelsea and Musonda, has underachieved with his on-loan promising athlete.

Musonda has started only three games since signing for Celtic in January has drawn anger from Chelsea’s top officials who are underwhelmed by his stint under former Chelsea coach, Rodgers.

A few weeks ago, Daily Mail reported that Chelsea were ready to recall Musonda from his 18-month loan spell in the coming summer. That report may be getting close to being finalized with Goal now reporting Chelsea’s clear intent.

It is unclear what Chelsea will be doing with the youngster, after he requested publicy to leave if he did not get enough minutes on the pitch, but with several clubs reportedly interested in him, Chelsea will not have a shortage of options when they do decide to send him out on loan next summer.
