It appeared a few weeks ago that Liverpool were getting close to completing a move for another target that will strengthen them even more next season as Nabil Fekir emerged as top midfield target for Jurgen Klopp.
However, according to L’Equipe, Chelsea have stolen a march on his signing next summer. The Lyon midfielder has been tipped to join the Premier League next summer after his exploits in France this season.
He has been immense for Lyon, contributing 21 goals to their course this season from midfield, making him one of the most sought after players in Europe. Those performances have drawn interest from Chelsea who are now ready to splash £62m for the 24-year old.
It is understood, via the Sun, that both Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in signing the France international but Chelsea are now in the lead for his signature in the coming transfer window as they seek to beef up their squad to be more competitive.
