Maurizio Sarri demands £179m from Chelsea board to begin squad overhaul

If reports from Italy are to be believed, Maurizio Sarri is on his way to Chelsea in the coming days and many expect him to begin a squad overhaul at his new club.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Sarri is demanding £179 million from his new bosses to begin transformation at the West London club. As is normal, some of the players who excelled under him while at Napoli will be drawn with him to London.

Most of the players he has worked with at the Naples club have flourished in the three seasons he has worked there and now three key players are being linked with a reunion with him at Stamford Bridge.

Center back Kalidou Koulibaly, right-back Elseid Hysaj and midfielder Piotr Zielinski are the three players Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting to have been drafted into Sarri’s list he served the Chelsea top brass. Koulibaly could cost £79 million this summer while the other two players costing £100 million.

Whichever way these transfers go, it is expected that Sarri will reboot the squad at Chelsea with several of their stars failing to hit the required heights. The Blues finished fifth in the Premier League table, 30 points behind Manchester City.
