With the World Cup set to kick off in a few weeks, there will not be much news on the happenings inside the clubs except for transfers and particularly for Chelsea, reports on the managerial changes and so when one of our strikers scores for his national team and joins a group of high profiled scorers, it must be mentioned.
France striker Olivier Giroud is now joint fourth highest scorer for France after he netted in Les Bleu’s 2-0 win over Ireland.

The game served as France’s first warm up match ahead of the World Cup. Giroud continues his impressive goal scoring form from Chelsea, and buried home France’s first goal of the game after his first attempted header was blocked. He followed up to score the rebound.
He has now tied Zinedine Zidane on fourth with 31 goals for France, and now behind David Trezequet, 34, Michel Platini, 41, and top scorer Thierry Henry with 51 goals.
The game was Giroud’s 72nd cap for his country and his goal was his fourth in his last five internationals.
