Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud gets a call-up to the France national team squad ahead of Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette after impressive stint with Blues.
France national team coach Didier Deschamps excluded Lacazette along with Manchester United winger Anthony Martial and Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman. Other major casualities include Marseille’s Dimitri Payet, Manchester City latest signing Aymeric Laporte. The Likes of Andre Pieree-Gignac and PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot all missed out of the squad.

Unsurprisingly, Chelsea’s Tiemoue Bakayoko was left out of the squad after his forgettable maiden season in England. But his teammates N’Golo Kante and Giroud make the trip to Russia while Kurt Zouma, on loan at Stoke City was added to the reserve squad.
Giroud’s addition will be a good news for the Frenchman who has been Chelsea’s live wire since signing from Arsenal in January. He has scored …… goals for the Blues since January and will count all of them as reasons why he gets on board the plane to Eastern Europe for the summer tournament.
