“One month ago, it was impossible” Antonio Conte retains hope of qualifying for Champions League next season

Chelsea are now two points off Champions League places, after their win over Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League.

Their latest win makes it four in a row for the Blues who are now within touching distance of reaching the last four in the Premier League after a turbulent season. Their inconsistency this campaign, saw them lose ground on the top four and their title defense in a grander scheme of things.

However, in recent weeks, Conte has churned out good performances from his players and are willing to fight until the end.

They have own their last four games and are now two points off Tottenham Hostpur who are fourth with 71 points, and three points off Liverpool who are third with 72 points.

Conte says what seemed impossible a month ago, now looks possible, as last season’s title winners seek to win their final two games against Newcastle United and Huddersfield to make Champions League next season.

“One month ago, it was impossible to imagine we’d arrive at the end to fight for a place in the Champions League. Now there is hope. We are getting three points in every game. Our opponents are dropping points, but our future is not in our hands. We have to try to get three points to put pressure on the teams ahead of us.

We must be pleased with our will to fight and desire, and our will to keep the hope alive to take a place in the Champions League.”
