PSG make Chelsea star leading candidate if move for Serie A top player fall through

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been made ‘leading candidate’ by Paris Saint Germain if the French giants’ move for AC Milan shot stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma falls through.

According to Goal journalist Robin Bairner on Twitter, Courtois has been made an alternative to Donnarumma as target next summer by Ligue 1 giants PSG.

Courtois has not had the best of seasons this campaign, after his mistakes has led to Chelsea losing big matches, most notably the round of 16 Champions League second leg, as Lionel Messi scored twice through his legs.

The Belgium international has been linked with several top clubs in Europe including Atletico and Real Madrid. The Sun reports that Courtois has no intention on renewing his deal at Stamford Bridge which has a little over a year to end. The report by the Sun continues to say that the 25-year old has set his sights on reuniting with his family in Spain and move to Real will appeal the most.

However, with the latest development that he is attracting interest from France, Courtois could have his option blown wide open by next summer.
