Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi will be able to begin full training in less than two weeks, ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
The Belgium international has been out of action for the last few weeks after injuring his ankle in Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga clash with Schalke 04. The striker was taken off the field in the game, with many fearing he may miss the World Cup, including a report by the Mail.
But the BBCÂ reported soon afterwards, that the former Marseille striker could be ready for this summer’s tournament in Russia.
And now after the first full two weeks of rehabilitation, the Daily Mail reports Batshuayi has been recovering very well and will now get back out on the training pitch once again.
That would be good news for Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez, who will now use the opportunity to assess the forward and call on him before the tournament begins on June 15.
Batshuayi scored nine goals in 14 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund while he spent his loan spell there, although his time in Germany was cut short following the injury that meant he returned to Chelsea’s training complex in Cobham, London.
