Chelsea are ready to take their chances and test Zinedine Zidane’s resolve to replace Antonio Conte in the Blues dugout after the Frenchman quit as Real Madrid boss on Thursday.
The Blues are set to replace Antonio Conte despite his happy knack of winning trophies. He won his second trophy in his short time at Chelsea, beating Manchester United to the FA Cup at Wembley a fortnight ago. He had won the Premier League last season at first ask, but this season, he has often complained about the club’s transfer policy while stating he did not have the right backing from the board.
With Maurizio Sarri’s release clause still proving difficult for Chelsea to handle, Zidane’s resignation from his job at Real makes for exciting times at Chelsea for the next few weeks in the off season. Talk Sport report that Chelsea will be ready to make an informal approach for his services.
Laurent Blanc has also been linked with the Blues job with Daily Mail reporting that the former PSG manager is now in pole position to replace Conte.
