Chelsea star ‘waiting for call’ from Real Madrid to decide his future with Blues

Chelsea no longer hold the mandate to Thibaut Courtois’ future as the Belgium goalkeeper is reportedly waiting for Real Madrid’s call to make a decision on his future.

The former Atletico Madrid shot stopper has been admired and drawn interest from Real Madrid for some years now, and the La Liga outfit are ready to bring him in this summer.

The Los Blancos’ first option to replace Keylor Navas is Manchester United’s David De Gea, but the Spaniard is not keen to move from Old Trafford and has committed his future to the Red Devils.

Courtois on the other hand has only a year remaining on his current deal, and has not made any move in penning a new deal with the club, a situation that has given the Blues some headache about who will replace him.

AS reports Courtois and Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak are waiting for Real’s call to make a move as both players are interested in the move to the 13-time Champions League winners.

With Oblak’s release clause rising from €40m to €100m from last summer, the report by AS says Real have focused on Courtois who has only one year remaining on his contract and could move fro free if he agrees a move in January 2019.
